Following the early access release of Hades II, Supergiant Games has unveiled the secondary update, a substantial patch that refines multiple fundamental fighting mechanisms. The majority of these modifications were inspired by feedback from the gaming community.
Gameplay Enhancements
- Encounter an additional Olympian nightly (as in the prior iteration)
- Increased likelihood of discovering an extra Boon or significant reward while in Erebus
- Extended invincibility period after activating Death Defiance effects
- Enhanced rewards of Ash and Psyche can now be located in [spoiler] and the [spoiler]
- Enable press-and-hold function for repeated harvesting from Crescent Pick Outcroppings
- Enhanced proximity of Toula during Encounters, especially in the [spoiler]
- [spoiler] no longer presents Death Defiance items if effect replenishment is unnecessary
- Reduced Gold cost of Selene’s Boon and Path of Stars at Charon’s Shop
- Minor adjustments in the order of Olympians’ initial appearances
- Evened out chances of locating Fishing Points in different regions
Nighttime Weapons & Abilities
- Enchanter’s Staff: Special now pushes adversaries away but with a slightly slower speed, while Omega Special is swifter
- Sibling Blades: Special extends standard foes’ stagger duration; Visual effects of Attacks align better with hitboxes
- Dark Flames: Attacks are more potent and quicker; Omega Attack channels speedier and consumes less magic; Special grants a speed boost but inflicts reduced damage; Omega Special can be channeled while moving
- Lunar Axe: revamped Special creates a lasting shield; Omega Attack channels slightly quicker; Omega Special channels faster
- Silver Skull: Omega Attack channels faster and covers a broader area
Attributes of the Nighttime Weapons
- Enchanter’s Staff (Circe): adjusted activation and duration of Serenity effect; Serenity now imparts Omega bonus damage that scales with this Aspect’s level
- Enchanter’s Staff (Momus): transformed; each Omega Move automatically unleashes multiple shots in succession from their origin point
- Sibling Blades (Artemis): Reinitiate Blocking if recharge occurs while channeling; Blocking now takes precedence over Dodging and similar actions
- Dark Flames (Eos): reimagined; Omega Attack releases a slow shot that sporadically generates damaging bursts and replicates your Special moves
- Lunar Axe (Melinoë): revamped; now contributes Power and Max Health
- Lunar Axe (Thanatos): revamped; hastened Attack adds Critical probability to Omega moves
- Silver Skull (Medea): enhanced detection of hits on foes near impassable barriers
- Silver Skull (Persephone): Glory accumulation accelerated, exclusively through Omega Cast usage; Improved responsiveness during Omega Special maneuve
Hades II took the gaming world by storm with its unexpected early access launch last month. Despite the full game release still a year away, SteamDB reports that the title has already captured the interest of approximately a million players.
