AMD Ryzen Intelligent 300 processors accelerated by up to 20% faster matched with an RTX 2050 counterpart RDNA 3.5 graphics component.

AMD has revamped its laptop CPU branding to highlight the emphasis on AI capabilities and compete with Intel in the vibrant new sector. This includes NPU TOPs, enhanced GPUs, and a shift to Ryzen AI 300 instead of the anticipated Ryzen 9000 nomenclature. AMD states this change is to signal the arrival of the third-gen NPU architecture, despite causing some confusion. As per “Golden Pig Upgrade Pack,” the Ryzen AI 9 300 processors deliver up to 20% swifter performance than the Ryzen 7040/8040 in both single-core and multi-core tasks.

Insider information reveals the projected performance targets of the Ryzen AI 300 CPUs at MSI’s Computex stall. The Strix Point mobile processors are purportedly capable of achieving Cinebench R23 scores exceeding 2000 for single-core and 20000 for multi-core operations. The integrated Radeon 890M (RDNA 3.5) GPU achieves a TimeSpy score surpassing 3600 points, placing it in the league of the GeForce RTX 2050 discrete GPU, and there are even faster RDNA 3.5 variants available.
