Assassin’s Creed Infinity could potentially be completed in time for the release of Shadows.

Ubisoft has not mentioned Assassin’s Creed Infinity in quite a while, despite revealing the project a few years back. It appears the project is still in progress, and it might be completed in time for the debut of Assassin’s Creed Shadows later this year.

Originally called the ‘hub’ for all upcoming Assassin’s Creed endeavors, Assassin’s Creed Infinity was designed to encompass future single-player campaigns across various eras in the Assassin’s Creed universe. Recent reports suggest that AC Infinity has been rebranded as the Animus Hub, a name that aligns more closely with its intended functionality and the lore of the series.

In the Assassin’s Creed universe, the Animus is the device that enables present-day individuals to relive the past by accessing ancestral memories stored in DNA. Given this context, positioning the Animus Hub as the center for future Assassin’s Creed games is a logical move. This indicates that the Animus segment could become the primary setting for modern-day storytelling in Assassin’s Creed, while historical events are explored through new campaigns.

Recent reports also suggest that the development of the Animus Hub is progressing well for the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, potentially establishing this year’s game as the inaugural entry in an expanding collection that will evolve over time. Analogous to the way Call of Duty integrates its games through the COD HQ application, this approach could streamline the experience for fans.
