Cambridge Audio, a specialized audio company from the United Kingdom, has revealed its initial entry into the highly competitive realm of wireless headphones with its premiere over-ear design.

The newly unveiled Melomania P100 wireless headphones ($279) parallel the recently introduced Melomania M100 wireless earbuds, featuring active noise cancellation (ANC) and boasting a claimed battery life of up to 60 hours, extended to 100 hours when ANC is disabled. A rapid-charging function provides up to 4 hours of playtime, and the ANC comes with three modes, including a transparency setting.

Utilizing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless technology ensures high-quality audio transmission via Bluetooth, with aptX Adaptive supporting increased resolutions up to 24 bits/96 kHz. Each earpiece incorporates a specialized 1.6-inch (40 mm) driver with three layers of Mylar and neodymium magnets, promising “deep, controlled bass, lifelike vocals, and exquisite treble precision.”

The Melomania Connect app introduces a seven-band equalizer with six music presets for personalized audio adjustments. Like its M100 counterpart, the P100 headphones feature Gaming Mode, optimizing Bluetooth for low-latency performance, reducing delay to 80 milliseconds to synchronize sound and visuals.

Incorporating hybrid noise cancellation using six microphones to combat external noise, the P100 headphones adopt Qualcomm’s Clear Voice Calling cVc 8.0 technology to suppress background noise and enhance voice clarity during calls.

To guarantee a comfortable wearing experience, a lightweight aluminum headband wrapped in soft vegan leather supports memory-foam earpads encased in faux leather. Extensive testing by Cambridge determined the optimal clamping force to cater to a variety of head sizes.

Both the earpads and battery are replaceable using basic tools, with Cambridge supplying a travel case equipped with two cables for wired usage: one with a USB-C to 3.5 mm minijack, and a second with dual USB-C ends.

Available in black or white, the P100 headphones offer multipoint connectivity, enabling simultaneous pairing with multiple devices. Explore more details at
