CAPCOM purchases Animation Studio Minimum

Recently, CAPCOM made public its acquisition of the majority of shares of Minimum Studios, an animation firm situated in Taiwan. The investment involved is below $30,000. CAPCOM offered insights into the rationale behind this acquisition.

Minimum Studios, based in Taiwan, excels in creating animations for video game development intended for home consumers and has previously collaborated on significant projects with Capcom. To fortify its long-lasting developmental and technological capabilities, aiming for an annual sales target of 100 million units, Capcom opted to designate the studio as its subsidiary.

Capcom is committed to pursuing the acquisition of essential technological proficiencies to enhance its game development division in the future.

Established in August 2018, Minimum Studios has previously contributed animations to notable Capcom titles such as Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, and Dragon’s Dogma 2, crafting in-game sequences and cutscenes. Below is a summary of the animation services provided by Minimum:

Our specialization encompasses keyframe animation and motion capture to deliver finely detailed animated creations. Whether it’s for entertainment or gaming purposes, our team holds professional skills and vast experience to materialize your visions and ingenuity in the virtual realm.

Additionally, in other noteworthy CAPCOM updates, the Japanese enterprise will be hosting the NEXT event later today.
