Intel and AMD have announced the release of their upcoming processors in the near future. AMD unveiled its Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” CPUs at Computex recently and plans to launch them on the 31st of June. On the other hand, Intel is yet to introduce its 15th Gen Arrow Lake (Core Ultra 300) processors, but they are expected to be launched in Q4 2024. The Core i9/Core Ultra 9 will include 24 cores (consisting of 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores), while the Core i7/Core Ultra 7 will feature 20 cores (8 P-cores and 12 E-cores), and the Core i5/Core Ultra 5 will provide 14 cores (6 P-cores and 8 E-cores). Meanwhile, AMD’s Ryzen 9000 CPUs will start with 6 cores and 12 threads, reaching up to 16 cores and 32 threads.

A notable distinction between the two product lines is that the Ryzen desktop range incorporates high-performance cores, whereas the Intel platform showcases a hybrid design with P and E-cores, devoid of hyper-threading.

Intel’s Arrow Lake-S CPUs will feature more L2 cache (3 MB per P-core) compared to AMD’s Zen 5 cores (1 MB per core), but a smaller L3 cache (36 MB vs. 64 MB).
