Xbox has granted players additional time to clear their backlog as we approach the final months of 2024 by postponing the launch of Avowed to early 2025. The highly awaited action RPG from Obsidian Entertainment is now scheduled to be released on February 18th, 2025.
While the delay might be disappointing for some fans, it eases the congestion in an already full autumn gaming lineup. Instead of clashing with titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Avowed will now make its debut in the comparatively less packed Q1 of 2025.
Alongside the announcement of the delay, Xbox also teased that they will reveal more details about upcoming games, including releases from Activision, Blizzard, and Bethesda, at Gamescom 2024. A live broadcast is scheduled for August 23rd, where new gameplay footage of Avowed will be showcased. We are also anticipating more reveals of Starfield: Shattered Space and Indiana Jones at Gamescom.
