Behaviour Interactive has unveiled a long-awaited update for Dead by Daylight, catering to the demands of its massive player base that has exceeded 60 million users. The addition of cross-progression marks a significant milestone for the game in today’s landscape of ever-evolving live-service titles.
The team at Behaviour Interactive disclosed the arrival of cross-progression in a recent blog post, declaring:
“The highly anticipated Cross-Progression feature is set to debut on July 22nd, enabling players to synchronize their gaming progression across all compatible platforms, with only a few exceptions in place.”
To access this new feature, players are required to have a valid Behaviour Interactive account, through which they can activate cross-progression within Dead by Daylight seamlessly.
Setting itself apart from certain games with restrictive cross-progression methods, Dead by Daylight ensures that all versions of the game include not only cross-progression but also sustain a unified inventory system, shared currencies, and even shared downloadable content.
However, there are some exceptions to this inclusive approach. Xbox One users are left out of the cross-progression initiative, and the Nintendo Switch platform doesn’t facilitate shared currencies or DLC access.
Despite a delayed implementation, the direction chosen by Behaviour Interactive for Dead by Daylight’s cross-progression feature has been met with widespread approval and appreciation from the game’s dedicated community.
