The most recent Economic Impact Assessment for Mexico illustrates how Google serves as a vital catalyst for enterprises, regardless of their scale.

In the year 2023, various Google platforms and tools such as Ads, Search, Play, AdSense, YouTube, and Google Cloud contributed over 278 billion Mexican pesos to the country’s economy. This monetary value signifies tangible business opportunities, employment prospects, and sustainable livelihoods. The Android application ecosystem alone sustains 170,800 occupations, indicative of the burgeoning entrepreneurial ethos in Mexico that we actively nurture.

Empowering with Digital Expertise Amid the AI Epoch

Starting from 2019, our initiatives have upskilled more than 26,000 individuals by imparting digital competencies through Google Career Certificates. Currently, we are delighted to announce the provision of 90,000 fresh scholarships for web-based learning free of cost in Mexico.

We are also introducing innovative solutions in Mexico, like Gemini Education and Generative AI for Educators, a no-cost course devised by Google in partnership with MIT RAISE (Responsible AI for Social Empowerment) and Education. This educational program targets educators across various fields who aspire to integrate Generative AI seamlessly into their daily educational endeavors.

Harnessing AI to Combat Major Concerns

We firmly believe that artificial intelligence can play a pivotal role in surmounting numerous societal quandaries. Presently, water scarcity poses a pressing dilemma in numerous Mexican regions, compelling us to contribute towards resolving this issue. Google.org, our charitable arm, is allotting $1.5 million towards aiding the International Water Management Institute to devise an AI-fueled system for ensuring sustainable water governance. Leveraging AI and data analytics will bridge the existing information gaps within Mexico’s water evaluations, thereby optimizing water resource management and fortifying water endurance. The AI-enhanced dashboard will aggregate data from diverse origins and present real-time insights.
