PC gamers have long awaited the arrival of Final Fantasy XVI on their platform of choice, and the wait is finally over with the game scheduled to launch on September 17. Originally planned for PC during development, the decision was made to make it a PlayStation 5 exclusive, which was released in June 2023. Since then, the game has seen the introduction of two paid DLC episodes along with multiple patches aimed at improving accessibility, particularly with camera controls.
An exciting new trailer titled “Deliverance” was released alongside the announcement, showcasing some of the intense action players can expect as they battle Eikons and other foes throughout the game. The DLC content will be available for purchase upon release for those opting to play on PC. The base game is priced at $49.99, while the Complete Edition, which includes both DLCs – The Rising Tides and Echoes of the Fallen, can be purchased for $69.99.
Reports from reputable leaker NateDrake on ResetEra forums suggest that Final Fantasy XVI may also make its way to Xbox in the future, as developers have expressed their desire for the game to reach as wide an audience as possible.
