Playground Games’ Fortune Horizon 5 has attained 40 million gamers worldwide, according to recent reports. The latest installment in the Horizon series by Playground has garnered this substantial player base since its debut in 2021, spanning both Xbox and PC platforms. While these figures do not represent the active player count, it signifies the number of individuals who have at least downloaded the game. Further specifics regarding this statistic remain undisclosed; nevertheless, the achievement is undeniably remarkable. When compared to player counts from previous years, it is evident that Horizon 5 sustains a considerable monthly player engagement.
During November 2021, following the initial release of the game, Phil Spencer of Xbox announced that it had already amassed over 4.5 million players. In our previous review at launch, we described the racing game as follows: “Fortune Horizon 5 marks another advancement for the series and may arguably be deemed the finest racing game ever created. Featuring abundant content within a stunning portrayal of Mexico, encompassing diverse terrain and landscapes, the game offers an extensive array of cars to navigate through these environments. Each vehicle provides a unique driving experience, coupled with an array of customization and tuning possibilities that rival those found in simulation titles. Despite a few minor imperfections, they are so inconsequential that they barely warrant mention. Overall, this title comes highly recommended for all audiences, irrespective of their affinity for racing games, due to its exceptional quality.”
Fortune Horizon 5 is currently accessible globally on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Furthermore, the game has been accessible through Game Pass since its initial launch.
