Intel’s Latest Lunar Lake iGPU Comparable to AMD Radeon 780M in Performance Tests
Recent assessments on Geekbench 6 have unveiled promising data regarding Intel’s soon-to-launch Lunar Lake integrated graphics. The statistics indicate that the iGPU has the potential to deliver results akin to entry-level GPUs such as Intel’s Arc A380, along with other integrated graphics solutions like the AMD Radeon 780M.
Test results, disclosed by Benchleaks, were centered on Vulkan examinations for the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, demonstrating scores of 31,560 and 34,181 in consecutive evaluations. The Core Ultra 7 258V CPU comprises an 8-core/8-thread configuration, assessed with 32GB of RAM under Windows 11 Enterprise. Throughout the trials, the processor was able to reach a maximum frequency of 4.8GHz while operating under a Balanced power scheme.
During comparative analysis, the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V exhibits competitive performance, with the AMD Radeon 780M and Intel Arc A380 GPUs achieving approximately 34K points, and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 scoring around 37K points. This aligns Lunar Lake CPU’s capabilities with these counterparts, suggesting that devices powered by Lunar Lake processors may eliminate the necessity for separate graphics cards, catering to lighter gaming requirements or even portable console development.
It is crucial to acknowledge the preliminary nature of these results, stemming from engineering samples evaluated under controlled circumstances, which may not entirely mirror the final performance in retail configurations.
