It appears there is a pattern with Epic Games Store exclusives – numerous of us are unaware of the games’ existence until they ultimately arrive on Steam. This was my experience with Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, which has recently arrived on Steam following a period of exclusivity with Epic Games. 

Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria was initially unveiled in 2022 during an Epic Games reveal event. It was released on PS5 and PC via Epic Games in October 2023, nestled between some of last year’s most significant launches. Now, approximately 10 months later, the game is arriving on both Xbox Series X/S and Steam.

The launch isn’t the sole remarkable aspect here. The game, set in the 4th Age of Middle-Earth for the first time ever, has also undergone a substantial new update, dubbed the ‘Golden Update,’ which introduces a plethora of fresh content and a new gameplay mode.

With the Steam release, the game is being offered at a discounted rate for a limited period, reducing the price to approximately £17. Throughout the game, you and your group of dwarves will delve deep into the Moria mines, obtaining materials, engaging in crafting, and collecting special relics. With the latest update, there is also the new Sandbox mode, promoting non-linear gameplay, diverse map layouts, and random elements.

The latest update includes new weaponry, armor sets, and construction items to enrich your Dwarven stronghold.
