Overwatch 2 Season 12 Introduces Fresh Support Hero and Game Mode; Benefits of Game Pass to Be Released Shortly

Blizzard has revealed fresh details regarding Overwatch 2 Season 12. Key among them is the addition of a new support character, Juno hailing from Mars.

Juno possesses a diverse Mediblaster and Pulsar Torpedoes, offering the ability to both mend comrades and harm foes, making her an exceptional support character. Her Hyper Ring skill enhances team mobility for swift engagements and retreats, while her exceptional agility, boosted by Martian Overboots, allows her to traverse the battlefield with unmatched nimbleness. Gamers can then deploy her Orbital Ray to empower teammates in order to break through tough holds and fortified defenses.

A new gameplay mode titled Clash has been introduced, where teams battle relentlessly for control over multiple capture points. With dynamic spawns and optimized map paths, Overwatch 2 heroes can spend more time in combat and less time trekking back to the front lines. Clash mode provides fast-paced, strategic gameplay with fresh challenges and avenues for triumph.

Furthermore, two new maps have been added: players will revisit ancient Egypt and unveil a new facet of Overwatch’s inaugural map, Temple of Anubis, while disclosing the perilous AI that instigated the Omnic Crisis, concealed within the Throne of Anubis. Additionally, they will explore the hidden secrets of Shiramura Castle while roaming the pathways of Hanaoka, influenced by the beautiful aesthetics of the cherished Hanamura locale.

Season 12 also brings about some equilibrium adjustments. Blizzard is reducing health levels on several damage and support protagonists. Noteworthy updates have been made to Lifeweaver to enhance the efficacy of the Petal Platform and its counterability, alongside modifications to Healing Blossom and Rejuvenating Dash. Competitive mode will undergo a rank reset to afford everyone a fresh beginning and a new shot at climbing the ranks. As previously indicated in a developer update, the Avoid as Teammate function is being refined. Lastly, based on community input, improvements to the group respawn feature in Quick Play are in the works.

Lastly, Overwatch 2 will be integrated into Game Pass on September 17, extending various advantages to members who have successfully linked their Battle.net account. Commencing on September 17, users will receive a single allocation of 30 Mythic Prisms for Mythic unlocks and six hero skins – Cardboard Reinhardt, Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo, Street Runner Genji, Bee Mercy, and Cleric Lifeweaver. These items will be permanently theirs, but they must sign in and confirm their linked accounts by October 21 to claim them.

Consistent in-game collectibles will be accessible as long as an eligible Xbox Game Pass account is linked to their Battle.net account. These include an assortment of items via continuous access to specific Overwatch 2 Shop cosmetics from former seasons, in addition to a stackable XP booster.
