Owlcat Games Explores the Publishing Sector with Two Role-Playing Adventures
Owlcat Games, recognized for crafting games like Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, has ventured into the realm of publishing with two fresh RPGs. This company is now extending support to independent developers worldwide in bringing their RPG projects to life. Through providing funding, expert guidance, and essential services, Owlcat Games aims to assist these independent developers in the game development process.
After scrutinizing 50 diverse games, Owlcat Games has selected two to kickstart their publishing journey. The two development teams that Owlcat Games will collaborate with are Emotion Spark Studio from Serbia and Another Angle Games from Poland.
Emotion Spark Studio is currently engrossed in crafting an RPG titled Rue Valley, where the narrative orbits around a man ensnared in a time loop within a psychotherapy session. Unraveling more about his tale, players must navigate through his psychological hurdles to discern how he ended up in this predicament.
On the other hand, Another Angle Games is actively working on Shadow of the Road, an isometric RPG staged in an alternate historical rendition of Feudal Japan. This game interweaves history, samurai ethos, loyalty, and integrity with tactical turn-based combat mechanisms. The game unfolds in a realm teeming with mystical Yokai creatures and Steampunk innovations.
Although both RPGs are still at the nascent stages of development, attendees of Gamescom can anticipate learning more about these intriguing ventures.
By stepping into the publishing arena, Owlcat Games has acquired complete ownership of the META Games publishing brand. META Games played a pivotal role in publishing Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and facilitating its release on PC and consoles in 2021. META Games delineates a distinct publishing approach from Owlcat Games, emphasizing gameplay-centric titles with cooperative multiplayer attributes.
META Games boasts a roster of published titles such as Biped, Spirit of the Island, Train Valley 1, and Train Valley 2. Among its upcoming releases are Biped 2 and Nested Lands. Just like the aforementioned RPGs, META Games will be present at Gamescom to unveil some of its upcoming ventures like Biped 2 and Nested Lands.
Owlcat Games, which originated as a modest company, has burgeoned significantly, now encompassing over 450 staff members globally.
