Enter the world of Pacific Drive, a distinctive run-based, first-person driving survival experience where “your vehicle is your sole companion in traversing a surreal and anomaly-laden reenvisioning of the Pacific Northwest”. Launched this past February, this indie game has swiftly garnered popularity, amassing over 600,000 units sold. Among the limited criticisms directed towards the game was the absence of a 60fps mode on consoles – a concern that has now been rectified.
The team at Ironwood Studios recently publicized through a press release the impressive sales figures of Pacific Drive along with the reveal of a highly anticipated update, stating:
“Ironwood Studios has announced that global sales of Pacific Drive have surpassed 600,000 units. This debut creation from the indie studio, under the publishing of Kepler Interactive, has garnered acclaim for its immersive narrative and survival gameplay, solidifying its position as one of the essential indie hits of 2024. As a celebration of this milestone, a complimentary content update and a purchasable content pack are now accessible.”
This initial substantial update for the game essentially brings forth the much-requested 60fps mode for PS5 users. However, regardless of your platform of choice, the update delivers more than just this highly anticipated feature, as it includes:
- Photo Mode
- Customizable Car Headlights and Light Components
- New Vehicle Part – Juke Jet
- Additional Garage Enhancements
- Interactive Jukebox
- Enriched World Development introducing new Points of Interest and more
- Bonus customization options
Achieving 600,000 sales within a few months is undeniably impressive, particularly for a debut title from the studio (and considering its exclusive availability on PS5 and PC). Hopefully, Ironwood Studios has a prosperous and obstacle-free path ahead.
