ELAC, renowned for its high-quality speakers, has introduced a new series of mix-and-match home theater speakers in Germany. This latest Vela series represents almost a century of expertise in acoustic design and engineering, showcasing the brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence. The lineup includes three floor-standing speakers, two bookshelf models, and a dedicated center-channel speaker, catering to diverse audio preferences and room configurations.

The Vela series boasts a new patented version of ELAC’s JET 6 Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter, lauded for its ability to faithfully reproduce high-resolution audio with extended dynamic range. Paired with the brand’s proprietary AS-XR sandwich woofer design, which delivers precise and energetic bass, these speakers promise a captivating listening experience. The use of bass-reflex enclosures ensures optimal sound projection, particularly evident in the tower speaker models where bass is vented through the cabinet’s bottom port.

Among the standout offerings is the flagship FS 409.2 tower speaker, featuring a three-and-a-half-way design with advanced components like two 7-inch woofers and a 6-inch mid-woofer alongside the JET 6 tweeter. With impressive specs that include a 28 Hz rating, this premium tower model is set to retail at $4,300 per pair in gloss walnut finish. Additionally, ELAC offers variations in gloss black or white finishes at a slightly lower price point.

For those seeking a more compact option, the series includes the FS 408.2 and FS 407.2 towers, both delivering powerful sound in a more streamlined design. The bookshelf options, BS 404.2 and BS 403.2, offer a two-way speaker design suited for smaller spaces without compromising on audio quality. The CC 401.2 center-channel speaker ensures clear dialogue and sound localization, completing the set with a well-rounded audio setup for any home theater enthusiast.

Each Vela series speaker comes with fabric grilles as standard, with the option to upgrade to a sleek metal grille that attaches magnetically. ELAC’s rich history, dating back to its founding in 1926 as Electroacoustic GmbH, underscores the brand’s dedication to sonic innovation and technological advancement.
