The recent report from Bloomberg indicates that Apple’s latest synthetic intelligence functionalities are set to be rolled out in October. This launch will slightly miss the initial release alongside the updates for iPhone and iPad software, as per the report published on Monday.
Due to concerns regarding stability and the necessity for broader testing, the company decided to separate the synthetic intelligence features from the initial iOS release. Apple had previously announced a beta launch for the AI features this autumn, with expectations for driving sales of the new iPhone models. These features are exclusively compatible with iPhone 15 Pro and more recent models. Certain promised capabilities such as ChatGPT integration and enhancements to Siri are anticipated to be introduced later in the year.
Apple intends to provide preliminary access to developers for synthetic intelligence starting this week through the iOS 18.1 beta version, as reported by Bloomberg.
The introduction of Apple’s synthetic intelligence was first disclosed on June 10. These AI capabilities will also be accessible on all Macs and iPads equipped with the M1 chip or a newer version. They are capable of proofreading or paraphrasing text in either a casual or professional manner, generating personalized emojis, and summarizing and transcribing phone conversations.
Apple has not yet responded to requests for comments regarding this matter.
