Gossips hint that Grand Theft Auto V is set to launch on PC Game Pass in the imminent future.
A leak from Rockstar Games insider tez2 suggests that there are talks of Grand Theft Auto V making its way to PC Game Pass soon. Although the game has been available on Xbox Game Pass for consoles previously, this potential move would mark its debut on PC.
It’s been proposed that the inclusion of such a prominent title would be met with enthusiasm. However, considering the extensive availability of Grand Theft Auto V on multiple platforms for several years, many gamers might already own the game. Released on PC in April 2015, the game has been on various digital stores like Steam, the Epic Games Store (where it was once offered for free in 2020), and Rockstar’s launcher, currently priced at just $15. The PC version lags behind its next-gen console counterpart, which received enhancements like ray traced ambient occlusion and shadows some time ago.
Grand Theft Auto V holds the title of the second best-selling premium game in history, recently surpassing 200 million units sold. Only Minecraft, appealing to a broader audience, boasts higher sales, estimated at around 300 million units. It’s worth noting that unlike its forerunner, Grand Theft Auto V didn’t receive any single-player DLCs. Plans for DLC featuring Trevor were abandoned in favor of expanding the popular GTA Online multiplayer mode.
The online iteration, GTA Online, continues to see regular updates. Rockstar unveiled the Bottom Dollar Bounties update last month, with more content scheduled throughout the Summer. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to launch in Fall 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. The PC version is likely to follow approximately one to one and a half years later.
