Saber Interactive Unveils The Squireling, A Journey Game Set in a Magical Realm

Saber Interactive has partnered with Twirlbound to support them in developing their second title, The Squireling. Their initial release was named Pine, an expansive action-adventure world. The Squireling is positioned as a fantastical action-adventure game scheduled for launch on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in 2025.

This interactive experience allows players to embody a squire-in-training, engaging in quests, exploration, and combat and platform challenges in a partially open universe. The Squireling embarks on a noble mission to track down Sir Pantherstone, his guide and guardian of the kingdom of Clemtoria. Equipped with a massive mystical shield for safety, he ventures forth to locate his mentor before it’s too late.

Traversing the enchanting landscapes of Clemtoria, the squire encounters numerous skirmishes with beasts and thieves. Simultaneously, he endeavors to unveil ancient enigmas of the realm and unravel the potential of Sir Pantherstone’s colossal shield to facilitate his perilous journey.

Sir Pantherstone’s colossal shield stands as The Squireling’s sole protection on his demanding odyssey, prompting him to slowly unravel the intricacies of the shield’s powers. The shield enables blocking, parrying, bashing, and executing formidable attack sequences against adversaries. Much akin to games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Empire, the squire can utilize the shield to glide over Clemtoria’s peaks and valleys, drastically expediting travel across the domain.

Saber Interactive, a renowned publisher and developer on a global scale, operates 13 studios spanning the Americas and Europe. They have contributed to the creation and distribution of games worldwide, including the eagerly awaited Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, along with titles like World War Z and SnowRunner. Additionally, their portfolio boasts involvement in projects such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Nintendo Switch, Crysis Remastered, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Saber Interactive has amassed more than two decades of industry experience, while Twirlbound was established in 2013. Pine marked their inaugural venture, garnering critical acclaim. As indicated in the teaser trailer, their current endeavor, The Squireling, is primed for a multi-platform release in 2025.
