Prepare for an exhilarating experience with Starfield: Crumbled Cosmos, the latest add-on for the solo sci-fi RPG launched last year by Bethesda Game Studios, coming to your screens in just a few weeks.

Recently, at Gamescom 2024, the game developer shared insights on the upcoming premium expansion. During an interview with Gaming Boulevard, Lead Creative Producer Tim Lamb shed light on the following:

We’ve integrated a handful of novel mechanisms that have us buzzing with anticipation. One notable addition is the introduction of new weightless combat scenarios that completely alter the strategies involved in battles. This brings a whole new level of tactics into play. Moreover, we’ve included fresh ship personalization choices, allowing players to finely tune their crafts to match their individual style of play. On the exploration front, there are innovative devices and tools that enable players to engage more deeply and meaningfully with the environment.

The newly forged section we’ve crafted is truly significant. Though not as expansive as the entire universe, it is brimming with an abundance of content. Our focus was on ensuring that every nook and cranny in this fresh domain teems with life and presents discoveries for players to unearth. Whether it’s concealed side quests, distinct encounters, or simply the breathtaking beauty of the terrains, there’s plenty to captivate players. This isn’t just about sheer size; it’s about the profoundness of the journey.

Lamb also emphasized that the additional content seamlessly integrates into the existing game, blending in organically for players at any stage of their gameplay. Artistically, Starfield: Crumbled Cosmos promises a palette of vibrant colors and a variety of landscapes, accompanied by a narrative filled with twists and surprises to keep players on their toes.

Starfield: Crumbled Cosmos will be available on September 30 for PC and Xbox Series S|X. While currently exclusive to these platforms, given Microsoft’s trend of porting Bethesda titles to PS5 (such as the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle), it’s likely that PlayStation enthusiasts will soon soar through space as well.
