The adventurer known as Indiana Jones and the Grand Loop are teaming up to back NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 and Comprehensive Ray Tracing (Path Tracing) on PC.

An important revelation was unveiled by NVIDIA during Gamescom 2024. Indiana Jones and the Great Loop will now be part of the exclusive group of PC games supporting NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 and complete ray tracing, along Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Black Myth: Wukong.

Path tracing, also termed as comprehensive ray tracing, was previously only practical for offline rendering in movies and TV shows. Thanks to the introduction of upscalers and specific frame generation techniques, it can now be applied in real-time gaming. CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 led the way with this technology, followed by Alan Wake 2 and now Black Myth: Wukong.

Although these games utilize different engines like REDengine 4, Northlight Engine, and Unreal Engine 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is no different, running on id Tech. While the specific version of the engine remains undisclosed, it’s likely based on id Tech 7, the engine behind DOOM Eternal.

DOOM Eternal performed admirably with ray traced reflections, added via a post-launch update. MachineGames, the developers of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, previously integrated ray traced reflections in Wolfenstein: Youngblood, though it may pose a greater performance demand this time.
