The downsizing at Microsoft persists | KitGuru

Microsoft faced criticism previously this year, following the announcement of widespread job cuts shortly after finalizing its major purchase of Activision Blizzard King. Regrettably, it appears that the challenges are far from over, as reports of another wave of redundancies at Microsoft are now surfacing.

Former Senior Product Manager at Microsoft, Angela Viness, was the first to reveal the news, confirming that her role was recently “eliminated.” Other Microsoft employees in technical, social, and management positions have also verified that they have been dismissed recently.

While Microsoft has not officially disclosed any further redundancy plans, these may be residual positions being axed now, following the initial restructuring process that began earlier this year. Microsoft might hold off until its upcoming earnings call to address this issue, slated for the 23rd of July.

This comes after a series of lay-offs at Microsoft earlier this year, including the shutdown of various studios obtained in the Zenimax deal, such as Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Arkane Austin.
