Launching today, the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X are priced at £339.99 and £269.99, correspondingly, in the UK.
The initial release of AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series features the new Zen 5 core architecture with the codename ‘Granite Ridge’. The series begins with four SKUs: a 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X, a 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X, an 8-core Ryzen 7 9700X, and a 6-core Ryzen 5 9600X. Thermal design powers (TDPs) vary from 65W for Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7, up to 170W for the high-end Ryzen 9 processors.
Although there’s a slight delay for the Ryzen 9 CPUs, set to launch next week, more information on pricing will be available soon. Reviews for these products will be presented next week. While the review for the Ryzen 5 9600X has already been released, found HERE, the Ryzen 7 9700X assessment is in progress and will be featured later this week.
The new processors will utilize the AM5 socket, and a fresh series of 800-series chipset motherboards is on its way. The Ryzen 9000 series shares the I/O die with the Ryzen 7000 series, yet architectural enhancements have resulted in notable performance enhancements. AMD boasts of up to a 23% gaming speed boost for the Ryzen 9 9950X compared to the Intel Core i9-14900K. Furthermore, Zen 5 showcases a 16% instructions per cycle (IPC) enhancement over Zen 4.
