The New Xbox Game Pass Standard Unveiled with a Collection of Excluded Games

Microsoft recently revealed the introduction of the Xbox Game Pass Basic tier, which excludes one of the highlights of the service – its day-one Game Pass additions. With the updated service now in effect, additional information has been provided on the specific games that are not part of this tier.

Announcing the changes on the Xbox Wire Blog, Chris Lee – the Vice President of Xbox Marketing – stated, “Starting from today, we are introducing a new package for Xbox Game Pass – Game Pass Standard. This package combines the beloved features of Game Pass for Console and Game Pass Core while offering an alternative option when selecting the right plan for you.”

Previously outlined changes associated with this update have been discussed in detail HERE. For those curious about the games that are excluded from the lower-tier subscription, Microsoft has now provided more information.

In addition to the inclusion of EA Play titles in Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Standard will exclude several previously released games, such as:

  • Age of Mythology: Retold
  • Another Crab’s Treasure
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® III
  • Diablo IV
  • Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
  • Little Kitty, Big City
  • MLB The Show 24
  • OCTOPATH TRAVELER II
  • Neon White
  • PAYDAY 3
  • Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
  • Starfield
  • Tchia

While there is now a clearer understanding of what Game Pass Standard offers, it would be beneficial to receive a detailed breakdown of the variances between the services – including the duration for which day-one games will remain exclusive to GP Ultimate.
