Skateboarding was highly popular in the late 90s and early 2000s, with the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater video game series particularly gaining immense popularity during the PS1/2 eras. In honor of the franchise’s 25th anniversary, the social media platforms of THPS have started to exhibit new signs of activity – potentially teasing an upcoming reveal.

If you visit any of the official Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater social media channels, you will notice an updated collection of iconography, profile pictures, and banners to mark and commemorate the 25th anniversary of the beloved series.

While this may just be a month-long celebration or a reflection on the series’ history, numerous fans are optimistic that this could be part of a marketing tactic for an undisclosed game.

For those unfamiliar, after several subpar games, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater made a triumphant return in 2020 with the highly successful and beloved Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Remake. Regrettably, despite the widespread acclaim, it was disclosed that Activision scrapped plans for a remake of THPS 3 and 4 – to the dismay of many.

However, last year, following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, insiders asserted that the company was contemplating reviving the Tony Hawk franchise in some capacity. Could this 25th anniversary signify the commencement of these endeavors? Only time will tell.
