ASUS made a significant impact at Gamescom with the introduction of a range of new products, including the latest AMD X870E and X870 motherboards. Among the highlights were the enhancements in display technology, with the addition of two new OLED models to the ROG Strix lineup. One of these models sets a new benchmark with a 480 Hz refresh rate, while the other, a more traditional variant, offers a 360 Hz frequency.

The first in line is the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP, a 27-inch OLED monitor featuring a state-of-the-art third-generation LG panel. This monitor achieves an impressive 480 Hz refresh rate at 1440p resolution, marking a groundbreaking advancement for this panel type. ASUS continues its trend of pioneering innovations in the industry.

Utilizing OLED technology, this monitor covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and delivers a 10-bit color depth. It boasts an exceptional response time of just 0.03 ms and is certified for DisplayHDR True Black 400 with a maximum brightness of 1300 cd/m² in HDR mode.

The monitor comes equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB hub featuring two USB 3.2 Gen 2 type A ports. Leveraging LG’s third-generation OLED panels with Micro Lens Array technology, this display showcases a 20% increase in brightness compared to the previous generation of ASUS OLED panels.

Advanced Features:

As per ASUS’ tradition, the monitor incorporates a range of technologies and features to enhance user experience. One notable inclusion is the OLED Anti-Flicker feature, a technology designed to reduce flickering resulting from variations in refresh rates due to FPS (frames per second) fluctuations, thereby minimizing eye strain during extended gaming sessions.

Furthermore, artificial intelligence plays a significant role in optimizing the display based on content, enhancing visibility in games, and aiding in target detection.

The ROG Swift OLED XG27ACDNG, on the other hand, also boasts an OLED panel but in a more understated manner compared to its 480 Hz counterpart. It employs Samsung’s third-generation semi-glossy QD-OLED panel offering 1440p resolution and a 360 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the monitor integrates ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) technology to effectively reduce motion blur.

In terms of connectivity, this monitor features a DisplayPort 1.4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a USB Type-C port capable of delivering 90 watts of power.

Overall, the introduction of these advanced ASUS ROG Strix OLED monitors at GAMESCOM signifies a significant leap forward in display technology, catering to the demands of discerning users and setting new benchmarks for performance and innovation in the gaming monitor industry.
