Ubisoft has decided to push back the release of The Division Renewal and Rainbow Six Portable. This decision comes after the publisher declared no intention to postpone Star Wars Outlaws following an unsuccessful IGN gameplay demonstration. While remaining tight-lipped about Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft is taking a step back with some of its other projects.
In its most recent quarterly financial update, Ubisoft announced that although Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws are still set to launch in FY25, Rainbow Six Portable and The Division Renewal will no longer be hitting the shelves this fiscal year. This indicates that gamers may have to wait until April 2025 or later to get their hands on these titles.
Ubisoft has stressed that its development teams are “taking the necessary time to ensure that these games meet the expectations with optimized key performance indicators (KPIs) in the midst of a competitive yet vast market.”
Both these games are part of Ubisoft’s strategy to explore free-to-play titles to supplement revenues in between flagship launches like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry. This year, Ubisoft has already started reaping the benefits of XDefiant, which was finally released in May after several delays.
