Reports indicate that the forthcoming Xbox Showcase will unveil 8 global debuts, potentially featuring the speculated Gears 6 and DOOM.

According to the recent statements by Spanish informant ‘eXtas1s’ (who frequently contributes to the publication Exputer), the event is anticipated to unveil more than eight games for Xbox, and potentially for other gaming platforms as well. ‘eXtas1s’ claims to have inside information on 8 titles that have yet to be officially revealed. These titles are said to encompass games from both first-party and third-party developers, with highlights including the new Gears installment from The Coalition and the rumored DOOM project from Bethesda titled DOOM: The Dark Ages.

“Based on our sources, it is confirmed that the Xbox Showcase will introduce a total of 8 WORLD PREMIERES, signifying games that have not been publicized prior to the event,” stated the informant on X. They further specified, “This selection includes games from both 1st and 3rd party developers. Two titles that have been revealed so far are Gears 6 and Doom The Dark Ages.”

While not officially verified, Tom Warren from The Verge had also hinted at the unveiling of the latest Gears title from The Coalition and the upcoming DOOM release from id Software a few days ago. Interestingly, DOOM: The Dark Ages is expected to have a multi-platform release, while Gears 6 is rumored to be exclusively for Xbox.

Rumors regarding the appearance of Gears 6 at Microsoft’s Xbox showcase had surfaced as early as April this year, with insider Nate “shinobi602” Najda mentioning that the game’s visuals looked promising and that it was unlikely to be limited to 30FPS on Xbox Series X|S.

On the other hand, recent reports suggest that the forthcoming multi-platform DOOM sequel will be titled DOOM: The Dark Ages, featuring a medieval-themed setting. “Doom: The Dark Ages has been in development for approximately four years, aligning well with the release of Doom Eternal in 2020,” shared trusted insider Tom Henderson last month. “The project was internally known as ‘Year Zero,’ and the subtitle ‘The Dark Ages’ hints at a game world inspired by medieval elements.”
