Leaked information unveils specified launch date with validation by third-party camera
Unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase by Microsoft, Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment was showcased once more. The team assured that the RPG is still on track for a 2024 release. Although not explicitly mentioned during the showcase, an official release date has now been accidentally disclosed.
Carrie Patel, the Game Director for Avowed, made the announcement on their blog:
“The recent months at Obsidian Entertainment have been dynamic and exhilarating. Since our appearance at the Xbox Developer Direct in January, we have been diligently preparing Avowed for launch on November 12, 2024. Today, we are delighted to have presented our inaugural story trailer at Xbox Games Showcase 2024 and to delve deeper into the details with you.”
Notably, the post has since been revised to exclude any mention of the release date, yet Wario64 was able to capture and publish a screenshot on Twitter, verifying the 12th of November as the release date.
If the release date holds true, it raises questions as to why it was not announced during the show – unless they intend to create more buzz closer to the release date. We will have to wait and see, but anticipate Avowed to debut in November.
One officially confirmed detail is that Avowed will feature a 3rd-person camera option – a feature that many RPG enthusiasts anticipate.
