A Dragon Ball Z MOBA game is currently in development for PC.

Bandai Namco has been exploring various types of Dragon Ball games in recent years. We have seen Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, a sprawling open-world RPG, and Dragon Ball Breakers, a multiplayer game in the style of Dead by Daylight with characters from the series. The next venture for the publisher is a Dragon Ball MOBA game.

Referred to as Dragon Ball Project Multi during development, this upcoming DBZ MOBA game falls into the category of top-down action-strategy games, where players engage in battles across lanes, striving to progress into enemy territory to annihilate their base. These matches can often be lengthy and intense, as exemplified by popular competitive MOBAs like Dota 2 and League of Legends. In this particular game, players will aim to penetrate defenses to secure the opposing team’s Dragon Ball.

Although the MOBA trend has waned since the early to mid 2010s, this marks the first anime-licensed game in this genre for PC. In Dragon Ball Project Multi, two teams of four players will clash. Among the confirmed characters for the game are Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Android 18, Cooler, Zamasu, Vermoud, and Majin Buu. The final roster is expected to expand significantly, likely encompassing characters from other Dragon Ball movies, as well as Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Super.

A regional beta test will be accessible for PC and mobile devices later this month, with further information pending.
