Last week, Bethesda confirmed that PlayStation Plus users who own Fallout 4 will not have access to the new content update, despite the release of a current-gen update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The long-awaited update for Fallout 4 introduced new features such as Performance and Quality modes, but PS5 users noted that a bug prevented those with the PS Plus version from downloading the update.

After investigating the issue, Bethesda officially announced that only subscribers to PlayStation Plus Extra are eligible for the free update, indicating that players must purchase the native PS5 version to access the new content.

Previously, Fallout 4 was part of the PS Plus Collection, which was removed from the service in May last year, potentially causing the discrepancy in accessing the update.

In response to the confusion, Bethesda released a statement on social media addressing the situation and asking for patience as they work to resolve the matter.

Regarding refunds for players who purchased the PS5 version due to the bug, Bethesda has not yet provided any official comments.
