How to use AI Playlist in Spotify
Late last year, Spotify announced its plans to integrate AI into more features, hinting at the development of AI-generated playlists. Now, this innovative feature has been officially rolled out to all Premium subscribers in the UK and Australia. The beta version of this AI tool allows users to create personalized playlists by entering simple prompts, resembling the operation of models like ChatGPT.
Spotify’s AI playlist feature enables users to craft playlists based on various criteria such as places, activities, movie characters, colors, and even emojis. The key recommendation from Spotify is to use prompts with multiple criteria, blending genres with moods, artists, or eras to enhance the playlist creation experience. This method is akin to using an AI image generator, providing users with a familiar yet exciting way to curate music playlists.
The AI playlist feature on Spotify places restrictions on the type of prompts accepted, ensuring offensive or controversial prompts are not entertained. Additionally, playlists based on current events or specific brands are prohibited, most likely to avoid any legal issues. By following a few simple steps, users can access and utilize this innovative feature to enhance their music streaming experience.
To create an AI playlist, users can navigate to the Your Library tab on the Spotify mobile app. By selecting the plus sign and then the AI playlist option, users can either choose from pre-defined prompts or input their own. Spotify suggests focusing on genres, moods, or specific artists when entering prompts to optimize the playlist’s quality.
If the generated playlist doesn’t fully meet your preferences, additional prompts such as “more death metal” or “less upbeat” can be utilized to refine the playlist further. Users also have the flexibility to remove tracks from the playlist that don’t align with their music taste. Once satisfied with the playlist, users can save it by tapping on the Create button, making it easily accessible within their library for seamless listening.
