Announcement: Today, we have revealed $10 million in fresh financing for prominent youth mental health and education organizations: The Rare Impact Fund, DonorsChoose, The JED Foundation, Child Mind Institute, The Steve Fund, heightening our total dedication to youth digital health and online safety to $25 million. Through this newfound funding, our aim is to aid in the implementation of mental health education and resources for one million high school students. Initially, Google.org has supported all ongoing mental health projects from high school educators on DonorsChoose, will grant up to $500 for projects submitted after today, and is presenting a $200 voucher to teachers completing one of the nine innovative mental health training programs we crafted closely with adolescent psychological well-being specialists. Discover more about how classrooms can receive assistance in our news release and on the DonorsChoose platform.

In this article, Selena Gomez, creator of The Rare Impact Fund, reveals her optimistic outlook on the aid from Google and partnership with other non-profit organizations in benefiting teenagers and instructors nationwide.

I comprehend that navigating adolescence can appear intricate and solitary. During my youth, I grappled with comprehending my feelings. Upon receiving the necessary support, I realized I wasn’t facing my struggles alone. I also recognized that, in matters of mental well-being, information equates to empowerment. It is imperative to empower teens with tools to cultivate robust mental health habits. This is why, at the Rare Impact Fund, we aspire to enhance access to mental health services by reaching out to young individuals within their familiar setting: the classroom. We are thrilled to align with Google to facilitate the achievement of this objective.

I also understand firsthand that supportive adults who can truly relate can create a significant impact in an adolescent’s life. As young individuals navigate life, it is vital that they receive direction in fostering sound, affirmative, and beneficial mental well-being routines. Few are better positioned to aid in this endeavor than educators.
