Lenovo’s New ThinkPad L Series Business Laptops
Lenovo has recently unveiled its new line of ThinkPad L series business laptops, offering a range of models to cater to different user preferences and needs. The series includes 13-inch, 13-inch 2-in-1, 14-inch, and, for the first time, a 16-inch model, providing users with a variety of size options.
The ThinkPad L13 Gen 5 and L13 2-in-1 Gen 5 models are powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, offering up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe 4×4 M.2 2280 storage. On the other hand, the ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 and L16 Gen 1 models give users the choice between an Intel Core Ultra processor or an AMD Ryzen 7030 Series CPU, with up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB PCIe 4×4 M.2 2280 storage.
All models within the ThinkPad L series come equipped with Windows 11 Pro and boast features like Dolby Audio Speaker Systems, HD RGB or 5MP RGB+InfraRed cameras with privacy shutters, and support for up to Wi-Fi 7 or Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
Enhanced Repairability and Sustainability
A standout feature of the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 and L16 Gen 1 models is their enhanced repairability, made possible through a collaboration with iFixit. This strategic partnership has led to laptops that are designed for ease of repair and upgrade, with readily available customer replaceable units (CRU) such as DIMM, keyboard, SSD, and WWAN. These initiatives not only prolong the lifespan of the devices but also contribute towards reducing electronic waste, aligning with Lenovo’s focus on sustainability.
In addition to the L series, Lenovo has also introduced the latest models in its X13 laptop series – ThinkPad X13 Gen 5 and X13 2-in-1 Gen 5. These laptops are powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, offering up to 64GB LPDDR5x memory and up to 2TB storage.
Pricing and Availability
The new Lenovo ThinkPad L series models are slated for release in Q2, with the L14 priced at $1,199 and the L16 at $1,119. Meanwhile, the L13 and L13 2-in-1 will have starting prices of $1,169 and $1,319 respectively. The ThinkPad X13 will be available for $1,539, with the X13 2-in-1 priced at $1,809. These laptops aim to deliver high performance, enhanced sustainability features, and advanced technology capabilities that cater to the needs of modern business professionals.
