Terraria stands as a silent giant. Since its initial release in 2011, this game has not only sustained consistent sales of millions of copies annually but has also secured a spot on the prestigious list of the top 10 highest-selling games of all time – with an impressive tally of over 58 million units sold.

In a recent ‘State of the Game’ post on their forums, the team behind Terraria at Re-Logic shared the remarkable news that the game has garnered over 10 million new sales within the past year, stating:

“It has been quite some time since we gave an update on just how massive the Terraria fanbase has grown. This was somewhat by design, as we had our sights set on doing so once we passed a somewhat-obscure game about a plumber and his brother trying to save a princess from this dragon-turtle thing…”

The Re-Logic team further expressed, “Thanks to the unwavering support of Terrarians worldwide, we are delighted to announce that Terraria has crossed the 58 million copies sold mark – to be precise, 58.7 million, with a substantial 32 million originating from PC sales alone!”

Acknowledged by the team, the achievement of 58.7 million units sold has propelled Terraria to the 8th position on the list of the best-selling video games of all time, overtaking the legendary Super Mario Bros. for the NES.
