Speculation has circulated over the last year about Ubisoft’s endeavors towards revamping Assassin’s Creed IV. This installment in the series stands out due to its pirate-focused narrative and served as the inception point for Ubisoft’s contemporary ship traversal and combat systems. Ubisoft has now officially corroborated its intentions to revamp a selection of entries.

Ubisoft has divulged that it is in the process of remastering several entries in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, one of the most prosperous series in the gaming realm. These reimagined versions will enable enthusiasts to delve back into some of the intricate realms and personas from the past, all with upgraded visuals, gameplay, and functionalities.

Information elucidated by Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot in a recent interview on the Ubisoft website confirmed these plans, albeit without specifying any particular Assassin’s Creed installments. As per Insider Gaming, the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag revamp is in progress under the project title ‘Obsidian,’ with some initial gameplay footage already in existence.

Guillemot emphasizes the objective of releasing Assassin’s Creed titles more frequently, but with each offering a distinct experience: “There are numerous exciting developments on the horizon, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, as previously revealed, which will diverge significantly from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We aim to astonish players, I believe,” he articulated.
