The most recent SSD to enter Crucial’s Pro lineup is the T705, emerging as the newest flagship drive of the Pro SSD series. The T705 is initially accessible in three sizes: 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB, with two variations – standard or with a pre-installed heatsink. A special edition model outfitted with a white heatsink is also offered but solely in the 2TB capacity. Crucial graciously provided us with one of the 2TB standard heatsink versions for assessment.

At the core of the T705 lies a Phison PS5026-E26 8-channel controller overseeing Micron’s 232-Layer 3D TLC NAND. Additionally, there’s an LPDDR4 DRAM cache chip, the magnitude of which is dependent on the drive’s capacity at a 1GB per 1TB ratio.

Crucial advertises Sequential read/write speeds across the board as up to 13,600MB/s and 10,200MB/s for the 1TB model, up to 14,500MB/s and 12,700MB/s for the 2TB variant, and up to 14,100MB/s and 12,600MB/s for the top-tier 4TB drive.

Regarding 4K performance, the 2TB and 4TB drives are designated with speeds up to 1,550,000 IOPS for reads and up to 1,800,000 IOPS for writes. The 1TB drive boasts rates up to 1.400,00 IOPS for reads and up to 1,750,000 IOPS for writes, respectively.

Crucial specifies an endurance rating for the 2TB model at 1,200TBW, with figures of 600TBW for the 1TB drive and 2,400TBW for the flagship 4TB variation. The line comes with a five-year warranty.
