Updates were also announced for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and watchOS 11, including a major redesign of the Photos app, innovative productivity tools, and enhanced customization options for users. visionOS 2 introduces new ways to interact with Apple Vision Pro and brings exciting updates to spatial photos and Mac Virtual Display, while tvOS 18 provides valuable information in Apple TV+ content on users’ large home screens.

Apple Vision Pro will expand its availability to additional countries starting this month, such as mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore, followed by Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the U.K. next month.

Apple Unveils Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence utilizes the power of Apple silicon to comprehend and create language and images, take actions across apps, and leverage users’ personal context to streamline everyday tasks. A key aspect of Apple Intelligence is on-device processing, ensuring personal intelligence without the need to gather user data. Private Cloud Compute sets a new standard for AI privacy, allowing flexibility in computational capacity between on-device processing and larger server-based models running on dedicated Apple silicon servers.

iOS 18 Enhances iPhone Personalization and Intelligence

iOS 18 enables users to organize apps and widgets anywhere on the Home Screen, customize Lock Screen buttons, and access more controls in Control Center. The Photos app underwent its most extensive redesign yet, automatically organizing photo libraries in a new single view and introducing helpful collections for easy access. iMessage now features dynamic text effects, allowing users to animate letters, words, phrases, or emojis. Additionally, users can communicate via satellite in the Messages app, even without a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.

iPadOS 18 Elevates the iPad Experience

iPadOS 18 offers a more versatile and intelligent iPad experience with new features and applications designed for the Apple Pencil. The Calculator app joins the iPad lineup with Math Notes, enabling users to type or write mathematical expressions and instantly see solutions in their own handwriting. Enhanced handwriting tools in Notes, including Smart Script, make handwritten notes smoother, more flexible, and easier to read.

macOS Sequoia Transforms Mac Productivity and Intelligence

macOS Sequoia enhances continuity between iPhone and Mac with iPhone Mirroring, providing full access and control of the iPhone directly from the Mac. Safari receives an update with the new Highlights feature for effortless information discovery while browsing. Gaming becomes more immersive with Personalized Spatial Audio, delivering a heightened gaming experience. Apple Intelligence unlocks new ways for Mac users to improve writing, communication, create images, and more. This intelligence leverages the power of Apple silicon and the Neural Engine, supporting every Mac with an M-series chip.

watchOS 11 Offers Valuable Health Insights and Enhanced Personalization

watchOS 11 presents groundbreaking health and fitness insights and increased personalization. The Vitals app displays essential health metrics and context, while measuring training load offers a novel workout experience. Activity rings are now more customizable, and the Smart Stack and Photos face utilize intelligence for individualization. Apple Watch and the Health app provide additional support for pregnant users, alongside the addition of Check-In, the Translate app, and enhanced double-tap gesture capabilities for increased connectivity and convenience.

visionOS 2 Introduces New Spatial Computing Experiences for Apple Vision Pro

visionOS 2 brings potent spatial computing experiences to Apple Vision Pro, allowing users to create spatial photos with existing images, use intuitive hand gestures to access vital information, and enjoy new features for Mac Virtual Display, Travel Mode, and Guest User. visionOS 2 also introduces innovative capabilities like Follow Your Breathing in the Mindfulness app, SharePlay for Photos, and multiview in the TV app.

Home and Audio Updates Enhance Entertainment and Convenience

tvOS 18 introduces intelligent features like InSight and updates to Enhance Dialogue and subtitles for an enhanced cinematic experience. Apple Fitness+, Apple Music, and FaceTime capabilities are further streamlined on the large screen. The Home app gains new features with iOS 18, such as guest access and hands-free unlock with home keys, ensuring effortless and secure access. AirPods software updates enrich how users interact with Siri, handle calls, and immerse in gaming experiences.
