As part of the Ubisoft Forward event today, the French game publisher unveiled a brief teaser for the forthcoming Ruler of Persia: The Hourglasses of Time Remake.

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the series, Gwenn Berhault, the Brand Director at Ubisoft Montpellier, briefly touched on the highly-awaited remake of the 2003 game, showcasing a 30-second teaser trailer featuring a flaming torch and revealing the game’s projected launch year – 2026. Officially revealed in 2020, the game’s development has reportedly undergone a complete revamp over the past four years. As discussed earlier in April this year, the remake promises a comprehensive visual upgrade along with revamped combat, animations, and various other enhancements. Just recently, it was confirmed that Ubisoft’s Far Cry studio – Ubisoft Toronto – will be assisting in the game’s production. “Ubisoft Toronto is collaborating on the remake of Ruler of Persia: The Hourglasses of Time,” as stated by the official Ubisoft Toronto X account last week. “We are thrilled to turn back time and infuse our studio’s innovation, skills, and updated technology to rejuvenate this cherished classic alongside our partners at Ubisoft Montreal.”

Although the trailer did not specify platforms, the remake is expected to be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and potentially Nintendo’s following console as well.
