Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s director, Stéphane Boudon, has mentioned that while there are no plans for downloadable content (DLC) for the game, there are ideas on how to further develop the character of Basim, the protagonist of the game. The latest installment in the Assassin’s Creed series was designed as a standalone experience without additional DLC, but Boudon hinted at potential ways to extend Basim’s narrative.
Although the reception of Mirage has been positive, the team remains focused on the existing game without any post-launch content currently in the pipeline. Boudon expressed excitement regarding the response to Mirage but clarified that there are no immediate plans for DLC or new storylines. He did acknowledge that there is more to explore in Basim’s story, indicating a possibility for future developments.
Regarding the potential for another game featuring Basim, Boudon noted that there are still untold stories about the character but emphasized the team’s interest in exploring new creative avenues. While the team enjoyed crafting Basim’s coming-of-age narrative, they are also eager to pursue projects that offer greater creative freedom and opportunities for innovation.
Despite assuring fans that Ubisoft will not be releasing major updates for Mirage moving forward, Boudon emphasized the team’s commitment to monitoring player feedback. The game launched in September 2023 across several platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. New Game Plus and the Full Synchronisation Challenge mode were among the post-launch updates introduced by Ubisoft to enhance gameplay experiences.
