NAD Electronics has unveiled the latest addition to their Classic Series – the C 379 HybridDigital DAC Amplifier. Priced at $1,099 and set for release at the end of June, this integrated amplifier and preamp/32-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) showcases NAD’s commitment to delivering high-quality audio products at a great value.

One of the key features of the C 379 is its modular design based on NAD’s second-generation Modular Design Construction (MDC) platform. This design allows users to swap out plug-in cards to upgrade the amplifier’s capabilities, with options for adding features like BluOS high-resolution multiroom streaming and Dirac Live room correction via two expansion slots.

The amplifier section of the C 379 is powered by a custom UcD (Universal class D) output stage, delivering 80 watts of continuous power per channel into 4 or 8 ohms, with an option to bridge it with the C 268 stereo amplifier to achieve even higher power output. NAD highlights an energy-efficient power supply in the C 379, consuming less power than conventional amplifiers while providing precise voltage regulation across various conditions.

Moreover, the C 379 includes a dedicated low-impedance/high-output headphone amplifier suitable for driving a wide range of headphones, catering to different listening preferences and devices.

On the preamp side, the C 379 features the acclaimed Sabre ES9028 DAC from ESS, known for its exceptional dynamic range and low distortion. Connectivity options are extensive, with aptX HD Bluetooth for high-quality wireless streaming, eARC-enabled HDMI, multiple digital and analog inputs, a moving-magnet (MM) phono input, stereo pre-out, and dual subwoofer outputs.

NAD, a part of Canada’s Lenbrook International, which also owns brands like PSB Speakers and Bluesound, has been at the forefront of high-quality audio technology. Lenbrook’s acquisition of MQA in 2023 further strengthens NAD’s position in the world of high-resolution audio. To learn more about NAD and its products, visit their website at nadelectronics.com.
